Artificial Inseminations and Exotics

   Aren't them some fun words??

Today I had a blast with Jonathan at my school. There was a cow AI demonstration, I got to inseminate a preserved reproductive tract, the SCNAVTA meeting which I need to start attending more often, and then exotics day. What fun!

I didn't fail my classmates, either. I took Mrs. Copper. Due to her still being in brumation, we kept her in the radiology room which was cooler and handling was limited to a short period of time. They will be coming out of brumation in a couple of weeks, so a bit of extra activity isn't too bad.

She shined like the star she is, everyone loved her(even the non-snake lovers). I love being able to educate people about our snakes and give people an opportunity to meet a snake. You wouldn't believe how many other techs said that they wanted one, but couldn't have one. And then there were those that told me to let them know if Mr. and Mrs. Copper get frisky here in a few weeks. This is Mrs. Copper's second time at the school, and she doesn't seem to mind either.

We also met three bearded dragons, two crested geckos, a leopard gecko, a painted turtle, a yellow-belly turtle, three ferrets, four chickens, two ducks, a hamster, a guinea pig, and a rat.
